Welcome to the YLD Broward Division

It is with excitement that I welcome you to the ASPIRA Youth Leadership Development (YLD) Broward Division web page.  Since 1981, ASPIRA of Florida has been the only non-profit community service organization devoted solely to youth leadership development for Latino and other minorities.  Thousands of youngsters and family members have benefited from the many programs provided.  ASPIRA is a movement that began in 1961 in New York to address the high school dropout rate and low self-esteem of the Puerto Rican and other minority youth.  Due to its success, other ASPIRA divisions opened in 7 more states including Puerto Rico.

ASPIRA Broward provides youth leadership development programs that emphasize commitment to the community.  We provide a  variety of services to address the needs of the youth and the family as a whole.  Please feel free to navigate through the different sites and learn about the different programs, activities, and events.

I would like to thank our sponsors, contract providers, public and private organizations and generous individuals for their support to ASPIRA's mission to empower the youth in the pursuit of educational excellence.

This year, our theme, "Aspiramos Mas" is a commitment to "strive for more."  We want to make a difference in the lives of more young people living in Broward County in order to inspire them to move forward free of drugs, violence, gangs, and unhealthy lifestyles.  Our teens are yearning for the opportunity to accomplish more and give back to the community.
