Lyons Creek Middle School - Principal, Mr. Collado
When Lyons Creek Middle School decided to open their doors to the ASPIRA program in October 2009, it was only natural to meet the principal and let him know that ASPIRA was not going to be just like any other club.
Broward division director Sandra Sanchez, David Martinez, and youth advisor Leny Beltran were honored to do so.
On the outside, Mr.Washington B. Collado is a professional, charismatic man with a genuine, and down to earth demeanor. What he is too humble to tell you is that he has taught since 1986 and has worked a Teacher, Fine Arts and Foreign Language Department Chairman, Resource Teacher, Assistant Principal, Intern Principal, and now, Principal. W. B. Collado has a Bachelor and a Master Degree in Spanish from Queens College of the City University of New York, a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida International University. It was truly a pleasure sitting and hearing about his story as a past Aspirante.
