World Premiere of Mi Historia, My Culture.

mi-historia-invite-OFFICIAL

A film by a group of ASPIRA South Charter School students, based on their own lives.

We held our World Premiere on Thursday, May 27, 2004, for a crowd of about 450 people at FIU's Wertheim Performing Arts Center, and two encore presentation on Friday for students from ASPIRA South and our sister school, ASPIRA North. Thursday night's guests reported being captivated by the story, moved to tears, impressed by the acting talents of our students and parents, and amazed by the professional quality of the production. On Friday, we knew the kids here would love it (many of them had parts as extras), but were thrilled by the enthusiastic response from their peers in the North.

We will be looking for other venues to exhibit the film during the summer of 2004, and funding for creating copies. We welcome any ideas.

Thank you for your continued interest in our project and our students.
